For Hulu's promotion of The Monkey, Adam transformed the film's supplied poster imagery into an intricate pumpkin etching. The challenge was to preserve the recognizable artwork while building a carving reveal that matched the atmosphere of the film's promotional content.
Adam developed the lighting, set design and story of the transformation, then filmed the process and edited the finished video with thriller-style pacing. A promotional end card and call to action connected the artwork directly to the film on Hulu.
Published on Hulu's own accounts, the video generated 31,000+ organic views. The project expanded Adam's approach to cinematic editing and shows how carving, sound, lighting and pacing can be tailored to a specific entertainment release.
